The UPS addition and alteration project consisted of a 300 foot long addition to the existing facility. The new facility houses a state of the art conveyor system that can service up to ten trailers at one time. The system is set up to handle both incoming and outgoing packages with trucks being loaded by conveyors automatically. There was also extensive site work done. Retaining walls were installed at the south end of the site to hold up a railroad embankment. Gasoline storage tanks and pumps and truck service bays for maintenance were also installed. All parking lots and roadways were designed to accommodate heavy trailer and truck traffic. Offices, the public drop-off, and locker rooms were also included in this project. All work was designed to UPS standards and coordinated through the UPS New York Engineering Center.
